Here is a link to one of our favorite US craftsmen, Leela Hein who makes custom art on mugs and switchplates – really well done and reasonably priced – the mugs sell for $12. These make great gifts and she will even do a portrait of your own pet on a mug for a small surcharge. See them and contact her HERE.
Mushroom Knives at KnifeCenter of the InterNet
The Knifecenter of the InterNet specializes in offering all types of knives to you. We don’t limit ourselves to combat knives or imported knives, because we have been the number one resource for knives on the internet since the beginning of the World Wide Web in the early 1990’s and we have been expanding ever since. So we have been offering mushroom knives for years, now and we recently got in a new variety from Maserin in Italy. The Italians and French seem to produce mushroom knives we suppose because gathering up the wild fungi is more popular over there. We don’t encourage the random sampling of mushrooms as there are many poisonous varieties that can actually kill you. It’s important to be careful and learn the good varieties before you venture forth. However, if you are in the mushroom gathering mood, the proper knife can help you in trimming them off and brushing them off so that you don’t have to take home all the soil that they grow in. Some of the mushroom knives we offer have measuring scales and most have brushes. We think these are an interesting product and hope you always are careful in the picking of mushrooms and have the proper tool! You can see the variety at www.knifecenter.com
We are constantly trying to improve our service to our customers as well as our bottom line as a business. Last year we began offering First Class mail as a domestic shipping option and it has been working out wonderfully. We are able to ship small packages at a rate of about $2.99 each. We switched to Mail Innovations recently which is a similar service cost wise, but it took a few extra days to arrive at the customer. The upside was that our processing time dropped incredibly and we could push many more packages through the system more quickly. The slowness of the delivery, though, has been causing our customers to complain and so we are now back on First Class Mail for most small domestic packages. We are also shipping First Class to Canada! This is a great service allowing track-able shipping at a really great rate. Soon, we will be able to use this service to over a dozen other countries.
We are just trying to offer the very best service possible to our customers. As many of you know- we have the best service in the industry!

Ken Onion Swindle – An honestly Great Deal
Columbia River’s models that are designed by world famous knifemaker Ken Onion have a great reputation for innovation and quality. This latest release, the “Swindle” is a really innovative pocketknife. The handles are super slim and smooth allowing for easy pocket carrying. The IKBS system of blade pivot is very slick and the opening is just silky smooth. The overall shape is very unique and artsy and the hollow grind is so deep that the edge is really hair thin. We like this folder a lot. The steel is basic and we wish it was a little (or a lot!) more premium, but, as it is, this is a great every day carry knife. You can see them at www.knifecenter.com

We’ve been selling Krudo Knives at the KnifeCenter for some years now, but we have recently expanded the selection greatly. Designed by martial arts expert Louis Krudo, these self defense tools are designed to help the user fend off and disable an attacker. Louis is a real knife-guy and a great character that we greatly admire. The design of his self defense knives is unlike anything else you have seen. While several of these SNAG tools are unsharpened, they’re not limited to use as “trainers”-most of the Krudo “pain management techniques” utilize the unsharpened, textured hook to grab or apply pressure to an assailant.

The new Buck 070 Hood Thug is a great all-around survival knife. Designed by the late wilderness/survival expert, Ron Hood, the Thug is the perfect addition to the Buck/Hood series of fixed blades – at 7 inches the Buck 070 Thug’s Carbon Steel blade is a bit larger than the Punk (5.6 inch blade) and slightly smaller than the Hoodlum (10 inch blade).
The Buck 070 Hood Thug’s large removable Micarta handles coupled with Buck’s Shock Mitigation System (SMS) provides for a very sturdy feel– especially for those with larger hands. The 070 also comes with a MOLLE-compatible nylon sheath which contains an extra storage pouch and can be adjusted for high or low hip carry. Get yours here at KnifeCenter.

The Zombie Apocalypse has never been closer in the eyes of Ka-Bar and their 2013 new line of products shows that it’s best to be prepared. They’ve expanded their Zombie Killer collection to include some popular Bob Dozier folding models as well as reintroducing the Famine Tanto model, now made in the USA. 2013 marks Ka-Bar’s 115th year in the knife business and they’re doing a leather handle USMC Commemorative Fighting Knife for the Army, Navy, and Marine Core to celebrate. They’ve also got a couple new Dog’s Head Coppersmith models with Root Beer Jigged Bone handle scales if the traditional knives are more your type than the tactical folders. If you’re on the fence about the tactical versus traditional knife battle, the Big Easy Slipjoint Folder might just be the way to go with it’s tactical design but traditional style Micarta handle scales and non-locking blade. There are also some new designs from Ethan at Becker Knife & Tool to include a MOLLE compatible polyester BK2 sheath, TDI Law Enforcement Master Key, and the BK24 D’Eskabar – a stonewashed D2 tool steel version of the famed Ka-Bar/ESEE collaboration Eskabar. Check out the new Ka-Bar and BK&T designs at www.knifecenter.com.
