This is a crazy offering from Boker. The real story is – and this is obvious if you look closely at this item, they cut the blades for their knives out of a sheet of the damascus steel and the trimming looks a lot like these openers! So, they grind in an edge and come up with these great letter openers. They come with a leather sleeve and in a great presentation box with certificate. An exquisite masterpiece for the collector. The high performance Leo Damascus steel is forged from the barrel of the battle tank Leopard I, exclusively for Boker. This extremely hard material is hand forged with tool steels and ball bearing steels to form 300 layers, which, through a special etching procedure are intricately defined in this Damascus patter. The dynamic recurved tanto style blade and the decorative file work on the back side mark the high standard of this extraordinary letter opener. Manufactured completely by hand at the Boker knife factory in Solingen, Germany.
