Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 25

Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 25

The first of the Sebenza 25 models to feature inlays is finally out and excitement doesn’t come close to describing how I’m feeling. I’ve known for some time now what the inlays would look like but wasn’t quite sure how’d they’d actually feel once I got them in hand. Well, I’m here to say that they’re a definite improvement over those on the 21, to say the very least. They’re contoured to fit the shape of your hand more precisely than those squared off ones on the 21. The benefit of inlays beside the aesthetic beauty is quite practical – they prevent much of the wear on the Titanium and not just because they cover it. Inlays are actually the only parts of the knife that will touch the table top when you place it down. Slide it across the table, the durable inlays will take the punishment, leaving your Titanium scratch free. In addition to the inlays, this Micarta model comes with dual Silver thumb lugs (won’t show wear like the blue lugs) and backspacer, which makes for a very beautiful knife. The 25 boasts improved ergonomics, larger and more durable internal parts, a redesigned thumb ramp, a new “Large Hollow” blade grind, and now you can add better inlays to the list of improvements over the 21. These are absolutely stunning knives built to the quality Chris Reeve is famous for, check out this awesome new knife at www.knifecenter.com

Pro-Tech TR-3 Integrity Damascus Folder

Pro-Tech 7721DAM TR-3

Pro-Tech TR-3 Integrity Damascus Folder

The TR-3 is one of only a handful of manual action knives Pro-Tech manufactures and it’s a shame there aren’t more. This is an ideal tactical and EDC choice, though many would consider it a “Safe Queen” – meaning it will only beautify your storage collection. What a shame that would be as well. Not only is this one good looking knife but it’s built to some extremely tight tolerances and has some very well thought-out features. A nicely contoured handle with superb jimping locks the knife into your hand and an adequate cut-out makes using the single thumb stud a breeze. I’ts a flow though design with a very cool looking frame lock. There isn’t much Titanium removed when laser-cutting the lock which makes for a better wearing, as well as better looking lock. An extremely functional drop point blade, blue anodized accents and pocket clip, and of course the Damascus blade make this knife a beautiful folder limited to only 40 pieces. Benchmade 484 & 484S Nakamura

Benchmade 484 & 484S Nakamura

Benchmade 484 & 484S Nakamura

Superb balance and the awesomely fun AXIS lock – what else need we say about the new 484 Nakamuras from Benchmade. This is the 4th model in the series and even if you buy this knife strictly as a collectible piece, I feel like you might get your money’s worth because of how much you’re gonna play with it. The blade, like that of the 940 Osborne folder, has an excellent EDC/utility shape and it  flips in and out of the handle with the slightest wrist movement. This knife probably has the best jimping of any Benchmade knife – great angle at which it contacts the thumb and perfectly done for maximum purchase. Finger grooves are perfect for medium sized hands and it comes with a reversible split arrow pocket clip. Check it out at www.knifecenter.com.

DPx Gear HEST/F Limited Edition Folder

DPx Gear HEST/F Limited Edition Folder
This is a well made and well engineered folding pocketknife that will serve you well and last decades if not generations. The KnifeCenter likes the DPx products in general and this folder in particular. Each knife is numbered xxx/250 so you will know which one you received. The Niolox steel is well thought of in the knife collector community with a high wear resistance and sharpenability. The handle material is G10 – a common and effective material for its lightness and toughness, and titanium for the locking side. This is a common handle configuration in the knife industry and it really gives a great combination of utility and strength of lock. The titanium side of the handle has a piece that literally flexes over towards the blade so that, in the open position, it rests against the base of the blade locking it open. Simply moving it out of the way with your thumb allows the blade to close. It is a very strong lock when open and very easy to release to close. The pocket clip is designed for deep pocket carry. There is a pointed tungsten carbide glass breaking piece at the tail end of the handle as well. All in all, this is a real classic that you should consider adding to your collection or your pocket! Spyderco C06TIP Tusk Marlin Spike

The Tusk is both a state-of the art mariner’s tool and part of Spyderco’s history. The original design dates back to the early days of Spyderco’s beginning with Sal Glesser’s desire to produce a high performance mariner’s tool. The technology at the time was not available for the visionary concept. That’s all changed today, redesigned by Sal’s son Eric Glesser more than 25 years later has
brought to light the original Tusk with new modern twists. Made from all highly rust resistant materials the Tusk features a blade made from LC 200 N and full titanium scales including a Reeve Integral Lock.
