Columbia River Cicada™ LED, Knife, Scissors with Plastic Sheath
Columbia River Knife and Tool has released a really clever new tool that is easy to carry. The Cicada has some great features. The hard, plastic sheath has a clip that can be used on a belt. It says it can be used as a money clip, but I really don’t see that happening easily. You need to bunch the bills up and slide them under the clip because there is a lip that sort of locks the end of the clip in a groove. Other than that, this is a great tool You can see them at: www.knifecenter.com.

Boker 140 Anniversary Series
We now have three knives from this 140th anniversary series. The Camp knife detailed below is our favorite so far.
Sometimes we get items in that I think are just plain cool. These Camp Knives from Boker are just that. They were some of the earliest models offered by Boker way back in the 19th century. Similar to Swiss Army style, they had multiple blades and functions. The handles are Chestnut wood and they come with a great leather sheath and watch fob type chain. In honor of their 140th year anniversary, Boker is releasing a different classic model every month.

Fisherman’s Multitool with Bits from Gerber/Winchester
Gerber brings in the Winchester line of products from China as an “economy” line. We don’t generally sell these products unless they offer exceptional value – as with this tool. This is a stainless tool with a few fold-out tools like a fully serrated blade, screwdrivers and bottle opener and the pliers come out the Gerber way- with a button release. They come with an adapter that fits over the Phillips head screw driver to take standard bits. 11 bits are also included which are kept in a rubber holder along with the adapter. The Nylon sheath has a Velcro pocket on the back that holds these items. These are not the top-of-the-line multitools that Gerber normally offers, but are of good quality and this is a great value – we can sell these at $9.95! We are carrying these because we feel that they are really worth owning- especially in the tackle box or glove box.

Buck X-Tract Essential™ Multi-Tool
The Buck X-Tracts have been hits for the last several years. This new model scales it down to an easy-to-carry item with just the essentials – hence the name “The Buck Essential“.
We like being able to carry just the blade, screw drivers and a scissors. It may still be a little thick, but we think it is the best of the series for most of us.

After an absence of over 6 years, Spyderco has reissued their innovative SpydeRench. The original was made in the US but had several problems. Among them was that they were difficult to close properly. This reissue made in Taiwan seems to have solved that problem and we like the overall fit and finish. They also now include a Nylon sheath. The ByrdRench version that we also have available is made in China but has a similar level of quality- without the diamond coating to the file.

Columbia River Knife and Tool L’il Guppie Multitool
The Guppie from Columbia River has been a great seller since it was introduced last year. This smaller version keeps a lot of the functionality but allows for easier carry due to the smaller size. You don’t get the LED light or the bit holder and bits but it is easy to lug around. Here is the sales material (maybe a little silly!) from Columbia River: Full Story
