Ka-Bar Johnson Adventure Blades – Potbelly and Baconmaker
Ka-Bar has some new, incredible fixed blades from a new series. The series is called “The Adventure” after a young man who likes to enjoy himself named Steve Johnson. The designs are really distinctive and, equally distinctive are the sheaths they come with. They have enormous pockets so that you can include all kinds of gear with the knife in one easy pouch. Also, a smaller knife is included called the “Piggyback” which is touted as ” the smallest Adventure blade — cuts like a knife twice its size.” This Piggy back model is made in China, but the full sized knives are all American made.

Here is the full description from Ka-Bar:
The Baconmaker – the more aggressive Adventure blade — is the ideal knife for hog hunting. Crafted from 1095 cro-van, this beast is built to withstand any abuse and never fail. The hollow ground blade maintains razor sharpness while the knife’s overall geometry provides optimum thrusting power, perfect for sticking hogs. The glass-filled nylon handle gives you unmatched control, thanks to an ergonomic multi-position handle that’s been finished with our proprietary Adventuregrip texture.
The sheath is specially designed to offer multiple carry options, including MOLLE and its roomy stuff sack is perfect for hunting necessities like rubber gloves, sharpening utensils, Adventurecord or anything else you need to Own the adventure!
The Potbelly — the workhorse Adventure blade — borrows its strength from legendary big blades like the kukri and the machete for amazing chopping power. This is a perfectly turned knife, with weight-forward balance for heavy cutting and multi-position handle that allows for delicate work. The handle is textured with our proprietary Adventuregrip so you’re always in control, even when things get messy. The blade is precision crafted from 0.25″ 1095 cro-van steel, hollow ground to a razor’s edge and powder coasted for corrosion resistance.
The sheath includes a uniquely-designed stuff sack for necessities like matches, fishing tackle, a compass or other survival items. With the included 8 feet of our Adventurecord, this knife can even be lashed to a stick and used as a spear if the situation demands. If you can have only one knife in your pack, choose the Potbelly.
The Piggyback — the smallest Adventure blade — cuts like a knife twice its size. It takes no more room than a medium-sized folding knife, and its deep belly shape and short clip point are designed for “unzipping” game. Grip points on the spine allow for even the most delicate work and the knife’s simple design makes cleanup a snap.
The Piggyback comes standard with the Potbelly and the Baconmaker.
