Kershaw Auto-Tek Retractable Diamond Knife Sharpener 8″ Overall
Kershaw Knives releases a very cool sharpener. This is just cool. The diamond sharpener has a OTF switchblade mechanism so it shoots out to extend and then, the mechanism allows it to automatically retract again. This Kershaw Product is sort of like the Benchmade Infidel, but with a sharpener instead of a blade and for $14.95 instead of $300! They are nice to have, effective sharpeners and always a crowd pleaser. You can see them at www.knifecenter.com
Here is the sales information from Kershaw Knives:
Take hold of the Auto-Tek’s handle, push the button, and-instantly-your sharpening steel deploys and is ready to put a perfect edge on any knife. The steel’s fine, 600-grit diamond surface is ideal for sharpening and honing almost any knife. But it’s the opening mechanism that will really give you a kick. Inspired by the quick action of a switchblade, a simple push up on the button automatically release the steel from the handle, while a pull back automatically retracts it. The glass-filled handle has soft-touch over-molding for a secure grip. Toss it in your pack or gear bag and you’ll always have the tool you need to keep your knives sharp and on the job.
TO OPEN: Grasp the handle with your thumb poised under the thumb-lever, apply pressure upward and the diamond coated sharpening steel will automatically deploy
TO CLOSE: Simply reverse the process above by applying downward pressure to the thumb-lever, the steel will automatically retract into the handle.
