Leatherman Rebar Full Size Multi-Tool

Tim Leatherman is the father of the modern multi-tool and has become a household name in the tactical equipment field. Leatherman started the company in 1983 with the original Pocket Survival Tool and today has over 30 different models which are considered top of the line for multi-tools. The Rebar is the newest Leatherman model for 2012 and it utilizes the same platform as their extremely popular Super Tool 300. It has 17 different tools, a high quality nylon belt sheath, unprecidented 25 year warranty, and a conveniently compact design in which all the tools are accessed from the interior of the Rebar in the open position and do lock in place. If you’re looking for a tool that can do practically everything which is comfortable and light enough to carry around all day, the Leatherman Rebar is a great choice for soldiers and civilians alike. More about Leatherman:

A native Oregonian, Tim received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University in 1970. After that, he held a variety of jobs, including positions as an English teacher and a helicopter mechanic. Time spent traveling abroad ultimately led to the Leatherman multipurpose tool concept.

From the beginning, Tim and business partner Steve Berliner have built the company on a simple philosophy: manufacture product on time, meet specifications, increase value, and provide a pleasant work environment. When asked about the company’s devotion to quality, Tim simply replies, “My name is on every tool.”

Although Tim is now retired, he still visits the factory at least every month and both he and Steve play an active role in the direction the company is going. Tim serves as Chairman of the Board and Steve as Treasurer. Tim also enjoys many trips abroad to visit with Leatherman’s extensive network of international distributors.
