These new knives from Mantis are just downright cool knives. Not main-stream style in that they are friction folders, meaning they’ve got an extended tang sticking out the top of the knife when closed. This tang, when opened, disappears into the handle and provides the friction necessary to keep the blade open. It may not look like a real menacing folder but get one in hand and it will definitely change your outlook. The ergonomics of the design are spectacular, absolutely locking the knife in the hand. The finger choil in the blade for the index finger puts you into a great cutting position as well as prevents accidental closure of the knife on your fingers. Mantis is a growing company and they’re producing some really high quality, interesting designs. See this and the rest of them at www.knifecenter.com.
