EnZO Knives now at the KnifeCenter

EnZO Knives are now at the KnifeCenter

Finnish knives, commonly bunched all together as Puukko designs, are built solely with the user in mind. The knives are attractive, comfortable, sturdy, and best of all, sharp! EnZO designs, and most Puukkos for that matter, generally feature a Scandi grind, which is like a flat ground blade without the secondary bevel. The edge of the blade generally goes up about half way up the width of the blade, or higher, making for a sharper edge that is also easier to resharpen. EnZO knives are perfect for bushcrafting as well as everyday carry since the handles are perfectly sculpted to provide the best ergonomics possible for every hand size. EnZO knives are some of the highest quality designs we have in the Puukko category and best of all, they won’t break the bank. Check out these awesome new knives from Finland at www.knifecenter.com.

New Svord Hog Beater and EDC Fixed Blade

New Svord Hog Beater and EDC Fixed Blade

You may think this picture of these new Svord items is a joke but by no means does it even do justice to the shear vastness of the Hog Beater and the compact size of the EDC fixed blade, an excellent alternative to the Izula. The Hog Beater is a hunting dagger with a whopping 11-1/4″ double edge blade, convex sharpened as all Svord knives are. The hardwood handle and black leather belt sheath make for a very good looking package on this devastating hunting design. The EDC fixed blade is 6-1/8″ overall with a 3″ blade and orange cord wrapped handle. The package gets a nice style upgrade with the brown leather sheath which makes the design feel like it’s double the price and belongs at your side at all times. The only drawback to the knife design is that the finger cutout is a little shallow so your index finger is at risk of running onto the blade while stabbing. All Svord knives are made from high quality Swedish carbon steel and convex ground for a sharp, durable edge for all cutting tasks. You can see the new Svord designs at www.knifecenter.com.

Ontario Strike Fighter Tactical Fixed Blades

Ontario Strike Fighter Fixed Blades

The new Strike Fighter knives from Ontario are well designed, stout back-up tools meant for any military or law enforcement personnel. The handle shape and texturing are borrowed from the successful XM-1 Military folders and made from removable black Micarta slabs. Each knife comes with an excellent plastic molded friction fit sheath that secures the knife tightly without rattling and has an attached Tek-Lok from the factory. There are two sizes of the fixed Strike Fighters available – the SG-3 with a three inch blade and the SG-2 with a stubby two inch blade. It beats me why anyone would need such a little fixed blade, when the SG-3 model can do everything it’s smaller brother can plus much more. Overall, these are very comfortable and durable new American made designs that will not fail you when you need them. Check them out at www.knifecenter.com.

Benchmade 483 Shori by Seiichi Nakamura

Benchmade 483 Shori by Seiichi Nakamura

New for 2012 in Benchmade’s Blue Class is the 483 Shori designed by Seiichi Nakamura. This joins his overwhelmingly popular 480 Shoki design, 2008 IWA Knife of the Year, and the 482 Megumi as some of the most elegant gentleman’s folders produced by Benchmade. Excellent size, weight and materials are the heart of the knife, but the ergonomics are it’s soul. For a small knife without any jimping, the knife locks into place very well with minimal fear about your fingers sliding forward onto the blade. The other aspect that sets the Nakamura series of knives apart is their use of the Nak-Lok, which acts like a cross between a lockback and frame lock but has a button you push to actuate. This design allows for ultimate strength in both the upward and downward direction of the blade and keeps your fingers clear from danger when closing the knife. The Shori is an excellent knife and you can find it at www.knifecenter.com.

Benchmade Gold Class 940-121 Osborne AXIS Folder

Benchmade Gold Class 940-121 Osborne AXIS Folder

The model 940 from Benchmade could very well be the perfect EDC knife. I honestly can’t find a single negative thing to say about it. The materials, craftsmanship, ergonomics, and attention to detail are all absolutely superior. Take all this and multiply it ten-fold for 2012, introducing the Gold Class model 940-121 by Benchmade. This knife, already near perfect, gets a true overhaul sparing no expense by using the best premium materials available on the market. The CPM-M4 super steel blade is finished in a clear protective coat called Cerakote and paired with the green titanium handle and carbon fiber bolsters, it creates a very pleasing look. If you’ve ever handled any of the 940-943 series of knives, you’ll know I saved the best part of it for last; the size. For a blade just a hair under 3.5″ and weighing in at only 3.2 oz., this knife absolutely disappears in your pocket. When closed, the knife is only 1-1/8″ wide at it’s largest point so you can slip your hand, phone, keys, or another knife into your pocket without obstruction. Gold Class knives are truly custom level production blades, see for yourself at www.knifecenter.com.
