You’ve Got To See This Israeli Designed Combat Knife

DUSTAR Model 1 Arad Combat Knife
New Israeli Designed Combat Knife

Brands like Ka-Bar, Ontario, and TOPS make excellent knives, designed to take the stress of combat situations. But they have one inherent weakness: They are designed in a country that has not experienced war on its own soil in a hundred years. DUSTAR, making their debut with the Model 1 Arad Combat Knife, does not have that particular problem. As a knife designed and manufactured in Israel, the Model 1 is a product of one of the most dangerous areas in the world. This knife was not made by or for idle knife collectors. It was made by expert knife makers, according to the exacting requirements of the world renowned Israeli military, and it was made to be used in combat.

The clip point blade, which also features a live back edge, is made with D2 steel, which keeps an edge for a long time. This lowers the amount of maintenance needed on long trips in the field. The handle is made of practically indestructible fiberglass reinforced nylon, and is tightly attached to the blade with steel pins.

US Army Brand Combat Knives
We were amazed when we saw this new line from Taylor–the folks that make Smith & Wesson knives and Schrade Knives and tools. First we were amazed at the fact that no one had thought to license this brand for a knife line. Then we were amazed when we held the knives in out hand. These are heavy-duty, overbuilt knives at a great price every GI can afford.

United Cutlery M48 Kommando Series
This Kommando series is amazingly large combat knives in a series “reminiscent” of the Becker knives, but at a lower price level. OK, the quality and design aren’t what the Beckers are either, but the value is pretty good.

SOG Fusion Fixation Fixed Blades

SOG Fusion Fixation Fixed Blades
SOG Fusion Fixation Fixed Blades
SOG’s combat fixed blades are legendary. Originally, they were all made in the finest factories in Japan. SOG has since moved most of their production to Taiwan. Then, they discovered the quality manufacturing now available in China and they are really taking advantage of it. These are classic SOG designs and the quality is great. The pricing, though, is really incredible. While the dollar still buys something extra from mainland China, you should take advantage of these great values. These fixed blades are well made. The materials are pretty good, too. Both of the full sized fixed blades are for sale for under $35 each! It generally costs more than that to buy a sheath!
SOG has this to say about these: Continue Reading
