Boker Belgian Whetstone Ardennes Coticule Razor Stone
Boker has begun importing the Ardennes Coticule fine whetstones. They are work known for sharpening quality. These are rather soft stones that are mounted on a piece of slate and contain garnet crystals. With water, a slurry is created that works rapidly to sharpen razors and other edged items. Kershaw Auto-Tek Retractable Diamond Knife Sharpener 8″ Overall
Kershaw Knives releases a very cool sharpener. This is just cool. The diamond sharpener has a OTF switchblade mechanism so it shoots out to extend and then, the mechanism allows it to automatically retract again. This Kershaw Product is sort of like the Benchmade Infidel, but with a sharpener instead of a blade and for $14.95 instead of $300! They are nice to have, effective sharpeners and always a crowd pleaser. You can see them at www.knifecenter.com

Norton Rolling Wheel Knife Sharpener
This is a great product! 1 7/8″ diameter. Hand-held rolling wheel knife sharpener has two slots with proper built-in angle to sharpen each side of the blade. No lubricants needed. Compact and easy to use. Made in Brazil.
We have tried this little item around the warehouse here at the KnifeCenter- and we like it! It does a reasonable job of quickly setting the angle on both sides of a blade. Use it gingerly and try to work the entire edge and carefully keep it lodged in the groove to keep the angle consistent. One of the nice features is that it doesn’t mess up the sides of the blades with scratches and just works on the sharpened bevel. Generally we follow it with a quick stropping- just drag the blade pretty much flat on some leather or even canvas or blue jean material to take the extra steel off the edge on both sides.
CarBee-Sharp Multi-Head Pocket Carbide Sharpener
The Carbee-Sharp Pocket Sharpener is a great and small pocket sharpener from ARNO. Arno is a major tool manufacturer in France and they have produced this amazing sharpener (designed by an American!) that is effective and affordable. There are no angle guides, however, and you will have to approximate the angle but it works well for a quick edge. Here is the product description: Continue Reading
Master Grade Commercial Grade Sharpening System
This system is extraordinary. It has a high powered motor and replaceable sanding wheels with three different grits. If you really want to rework the edges on your knives, this system will do it with expert results. The sets that we sell include the base unit with standard cover, a replacement cover with wider access for coarse grit reshaping, the fine grit wheels mounted on the unit, and replacement medium and coarse grit wheels.
We like this unit but it is geared for commercial kitchens and not fine cutlery. If you are using it for your fine cutlery, use extreme caution that you don’t remove too much metal with each sharpening or your knives won’t last for the generations they were built for!
