Finnish knives, commonly bunched all together as Puukko designs, are built solely with the user in mind. The knives are attractive, comfortable, sturdy, and best of all, sharp! EnZO designs, and most Puukkos for that matter, generally feature a Scandi grind, which is like a flat ground blade without the secondary bevel. The edge of the blade generally goes up about half way up the width of the blade, or higher, making for a sharper edge that is also easier to resharpen. EnZO knives are perfect for bushcrafting as well as everyday carry since the handles are perfectly sculpted to provide the best ergonomics possible for every hand size. EnZO knives are some of the highest quality designs we have in the Puukko category and best of all, they won’t break the bank. Check out these awesome new knives from Finland at www.knifecenter.com.

You may think this picture of these new Svord items is a joke but by no means does it even do justice to the shear vastness of the Hog Beater and the compact size of the EDC fixed blade, an excellent alternative to the Izula. The Hog Beater is a hunting dagger with a whopping 11-1/4″ double edge blade, convex sharpened as all Svord knives are. The hardwood handle and black leather belt sheath make for a very good looking package on this devastating hunting design. The EDC fixed blade is 6-1/8″ overall with a 3″ blade and orange cord wrapped handle. The package gets a nice style upgrade with the brown leather sheath which makes the design feel like it’s double the price and belongs at your side at all times. The only drawback to the knife design is that the finger cutout is a little shallow so your index finger is at risk of running onto the blade while stabbing. All Svord knives are made from high quality Swedish carbon steel and convex ground for a sharp, durable edge for all cutting tasks. You can see the new Svord designs at www.knifecenter.com.

Jason Brous, the mastermind behind Brous Blades, is one of the great young craftsman on the rise in our industry. His first successful design, the Silent Soldier, was and still is among the most popular true neck knives we carry. Soon after the Silent Soldier came out, a fixed blade with three distinct bevels was created called the Triple Threat. Now, just over a year later, we are pleased to see coming through our doors a very well done folding version of that wicked knife. The 3-1/2″ blade is made from D2 tool steel and is a paired with a 4-1/2″ well textured and contoured G10 handle. Speed, ergonomics, lockup, fit and finish are right on par with knives of this price point.
The Coroner is the large fixed blade model we just received in and it really is an awe-inspiring piece of work. Brous has a strong background in CNC-machine work and that’s readily apparent with this knife. The 6-1/4″ spear point blade is a whopping 1/4″ thick piece of D2 tool steel but is not sharpened on both sides. The chainsaw-like serrations on the blade spine are extremely well executed and designed to unleash devastating, non-lethal, impact strikes. The milled G10 handle is a little small for gloved hands but it locks the heavy knife in the hand extremely well. Besides the excellent milling work on the blade, the sheath is not far behind as the best part of this knife. The friction fit Kydex sheath is as slim and sleek as it is functional; one of the best executed Kydex sheaths I’ve ever seen. These are two great overbuilt knives that you can be sure not many other people will have, check them out at www.knifecenter.com.

What makes a good Buchcraft design is an easily resharpened blade, comfortable handle, and of course a good sheath. The new Boker Plus Classic Bushcraft knife gets all of these things right. The 4″ 440C blade may not be the best looking I’ve ever seen but it will cut well and resharpen quite easily. The black Micarta handle scales have a huge lanyard hole for 550 cord and are nicely rounded for a comfortable grip. The leather sheath is a simplistic drop-in design but it secures the knife very well so you’ll have no fear of losing it. The Classic Bushcraft knife comes from Boker Plus in very nice gift packaging complete with a fire steel and striker, which must be carried separate from the sheath. Check it out this affordable new design at www.knifecenter.com.

If you’re looking for a decently made, economical all around camp knife that’s rugged, well built, as well as visually appealing – look no further than the Garuda by Condor Tool & Knife. Designed by Joe Flowers, an outdoorsman from North Carolina, this knife is tough enough to do it all. This is an economically priced, large fixed blade. Don’t look for perfection in every curve, but it is well made and sturdy. The 5″ 1075 high carbon steel blade is epoxy powder coated to assist in corrosion resistance and full tang for added strength. The Micarta handles are oversized for use with gloves or for those with larger hands and it is nicely curved and contoured to fit the hand excellently. It comes with a very sharp convex grind and ballistic nylon sheath that can be attached to your belt or MOLLE gear no problem. This is a very well designed, high quality new combat knife from Jesper Voxnaes and Boker. It’s constructed from one solid piece of N690BO stainless steel with a beautiful stonewashed finish. The handle is contoured canvas Micarta with holes drilled through it allowing for the knife to be easily attached to a stick for a homemade spear. The clip point blade is an excellent tactical design that can also be pressed into hunting tasks with ease. Part of what makes a good fixed blade knife is having a good sheath and that’s definitely the case for the Boker JTN. The black leather sheath is extremely well made, visually appealing, and durable. It’s got a pouch on the front for extra survival gear and has Velcro and button attachments on the belt loop so the sheath can be put on and removed without having to undo your belt. A very nice knife from Boker that’s built like a tank and available at www.knifecenter.com.
