Shining a Light on AceBeam!

We’re shining a light (sorry, we had to…) on AceBeam’s line of flashlights. AceBeam was established in 2014 and has been recognized as some of the brightest and best-made flashlights. Their talented research, design, engineering, and marketing teams work together to satisfy the most demanding end-users by constantly testing the limits of what can be achieved with the latest technology – and they don’t sacrifice durability, functionality, or value.

KnifeCenter is the original and largest online catalog of cutlery, and that includes the best flashlights in the world.

Customs & Mid-Techs: BLADE Show 2018 Edition!

Check out our latest additions to the site – these incredible BLADE Show 2018 customs. Don’t worry, though…we still have a few things left to add from the show, so the fun isn’t over.

KnifeCenter is the original and largest online catalog of cutlery, and that includes the best custom knives in the world.

Kurt Merriken Custom Knives

Kurt Merriken is a talented up and coming custom knifemaker and we’re very excited to be able to showcase a couple of his knives. This full-time firefighter from Florida spends much of his free time grinding away, specifically on unusually large, intimidating folders. We picked up two very different yet equally impressive models from Kurt at the BLADE show: two elegant full dress Excursion Prototype flippers with Damascus and timascus and a Mutiny Reincarnated Prototype in liner lock configuration.

Biegler Bladeworks Custom Balisongs

Brian Biegler is about to take the butterfly community by storm with his exceptional array of blade shapes and utterly amazing flipping action. These handmade balis are the cream of the crop, yet they won’t set you back so much that you’ll never actually use these premium tools.

Butch Ball Custom Flippers

Butch Ball is a local designer for us, yet we always seem to be seeing him down in Atlanta instead of in Virginia. With that said, we picked up as many pieces as we could from Butch that exemplified the tactical yet stylish nature of his work and they’re moving quickly, so act fast.

New Hotness from Custom Knife Factory

It was too much to try and fit all the different models we got from CKF at the show in the title, so we’ll do it here. We have some customized one-off and full dress Decepticon 4s, Gavko SF Spinner Flippers, and Hoback Kwaiback collaborations, plus some production Bragga and Kadat flippers. We even have a handmade Decepticon from Alexey Konygin that was hand-delivered here to Virginia by Alexey himself. All of these pieces are absolutely amazing and will make worthy additions to your collection.

Les George Custom Rockeye and Mid-Tech Galvos

Les George is a true gentleman in this industry, but his work is anything but. It’s designed for real-world tactical use with just the right amount of embellishment to not be over the top. We picked up a number of his Galvo boot knives in various finishes, as well as this stunning Damascus Rockeye that’s outfitted with Chad Nichols Cu-Ti mokume pivot collars.

Alan Kritzman Custom Flippers

If there’s one thing Alan Kritzman is not, it’s greedy. These flippers are undeniably elegant and sophisticated and feature top-notch fit and finish, but they sure aren’t priced like knives that were handmade in the USA. They will provide you with excellent value for your money and give you a knife you’ll look forward to using each and every day.

Carlo Cavedon Custom Knives

Carlo Cavedon manufactures knives under the company name CavedonArt – and that perfectly describes his work. His knives are extremely beautiful, often featuring hand engraving to take it to the next level. We’re lucky to be able to offer these two amazing pieces to you.

Melvin Lozada Custom Knives

Melvin Lozada is a custom knifemaker who tires easily of making the same design so he’s always progressing onto something new and improved. We have a few new models here including the Anubis, Bandido 3.0, and a skeletonized fixed blade. We also have some tried and true designs in the shape of a Rhino 5.0 and this beautiful Damascus Chronos flipper.

Chuck Gedraitis Custom Knives

2018 is the year of the slipjoint and Chuck Gedraitis is 100% on board. We picked up a number of his new compact slipjoint models in addition to a single tactical Marauder XL model that’s large, in charge, and outfitted with only the best materials Chuck could find.

We still have a few more things from BLADE Show to get up on the site including pieces from Greg Lightfoot, Rick Hinderer, Kendall Hughes, Scorpion 6, and Spartan Blades. We get new Customs and Mid-Techs in every day, so please email us at with any inquiries.

The Latest Addition to The Knife Guide

Check out the latest video in our Knife Guide series, where we’ll be tackling topics that will take knife newbies to expert status. The newest episode is all about knife ergonomics, the importance of finding the right grip, ways to avoid hot spots, and how KnifeCenter works to pull together the best specs so you can choose the right fit for you.

We’ll be adding new videos weekly on YouTube and featuring the products on our website. We’re going to talk about what a fixed blade is, the best way to sharpen steel, the different blade shapes and what blade types are best for specific tasks, the different types of steel and how they compare, the best knife handle materials, and more!

Six KnifeCenter Exclusives!

KnifeCenter is lucky enough to work with some of the greatest knifemakers in the industry – and sometimes, we’re able to provide unique KnifeCenter Exclusives that you can’t get anywhere else. Check out a few of our Exclusive knives below!

Rick Hinderer Knives XM-18

When Rick designed the XM-18, his goal was a no-nonsense tactical tool that could accomplish everything from simple cutting tasks to high-speed low drag operations. This KnifeCenter Exclusive version features a 3.5” spear point flipper with a black DLC finish on the blade, lockside, pocket clip, and filler tab. KnifeCenter’s signature orange color makes an appearance in the uniquely layered G10 scale and anodized barrel spacers.

RMJ Tactical Combat Africa

When Ryan was designing the Combat Africa fixed blade, his friend John wisely told him “these knives are used in high-energy situations where every second counts. You can’t carry everything you would like to carry; the knife will have to be able to complete a multitude of tasks.” Enter this KnifeCenter Exclusive: a contemporary tactical knife with black/orange G10 handle scales and a 7” carbon steel blade with a sniper gray Cerakote finish.

Benchmade Nakamura

We admired the beauty of the Nakamura gentleman’s folder so much, we just knew we had to get an Exclusive – and we felt that the orange aluminum barrel spacers and pivot ring were a great touch. This model comes with super premium M390 powdered steel and a contoured wood handle with stainless steel liners.

Spyderco Delica

No Exclusive list would be complete without a Spyderco – and a Delica, no less. This limited edition version was specifically manufactured for us with a laminated HAP40/SUS410 blade and handsome mahogany Pakkawood handle scales. The knife has full skeletonized stainless steel liners, a stainless steel backspacer, and all the incredible features of a classic Delica 4. This is a must-have collector’s item if we’ve ever seen one.

Jake Hoback Kwaiback Flipper

Jake Hoback is one of our favorite custom knifemakers, so getting an Exclusive of his most iconic design – the Kwaiback – had us pretty pumped. We were lucky enough to score Jake’s awesome Bedform finish on our version. We thought the unique milling was a practical, subtle touch that gave it a tactical edge. The KnifeCenter Exclusive Kwaiback is also available in blue and purple, and each one was hand-tuned by Jake himself and passed his stringent QC standards.

Tuff-Writer Precision Press Tactical Pen

We may be KnifeCenter, but we’re not just all about knives – evidenced by this KnifeCenter Exclusive tactical pen brought to us by Tuff-Writer. Fun facts: this pen has an estimated shelf life of 100 years, can write at altitudes up to 12,500 feet, and will still work in temperatures that range from -30 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. What makes this one an Exclusive? That glorious orange Cerakote color.

Those are just a few of our many Exclusive items – all of which can be found here! Don’t forget to check us out on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and let us know what knives you’d like to see join our line up next. Who knows? Your suggestion could be the next one-of-a-kind KnifeCenter Exclusive!

KnifeCenter is the original and largest online catalog of cutlery, and that includes the best exclusive knives in the world.

Custom & Mid-Tech Knives Showcase

We still have new BLADE Show 2018 finds to show you, plus we still get in custom and mid-tech knives every day – so check out our latest collection of custom masterpieces!

KnifeCenter is the original and largest online catalog of cutlery, and that includes the best custom knives in the world.

GTC Custom Flippers

We picked up a batch of new customs from Gustavo at BLADE Show this year and they’re already going quickly! The Cruise flipper offsets his angular, techy aesthetic with a wonderfully organic-looking Nichols Elmax Core Damascus blade and an eye-popping Zircu-Ti clip. The clean, tactical, Reduced Plasma flicker has a similar pocket clip, but the custom Steel Flame backspacer really captivates your attention.

Mick Strider Custom Engraved SnGs

This latest batch of custom SnG folders from Mick is going to leave Strider fans with their jaws on the floor. We brought back nine models with his laser engraved handle patterns, which left room for plenty of variety in blade shape and finish. We also picked up a gorgeous one-off SnG with a hand ground Hamon textured pike blade and beautiful textured titanium handle.

Alphahunter War Bowies and Gator Tooth Slipjoints

These two new models are stellar examples of the kind of variety you can count on seeing from Alphahunter Tactical moving forward. The War Bowie is a beefy, oversized folder of the type you’ve come to expect from Chad DeTalente, while the Gator Tooth is a low-profile, EDC-ready slipjoint collaboration with Jason Smith of Gatorbud.

Andrei Sander Custom Knives

Andrei Sander is yet another in the talented crop of Russian custom knifemakers, and we couldn’t resist picking up an array of his sleek, elegant folding knives. When you get one of these in your hand, the feeling is a lot like a Shirogorov, which is high enough praise, but the fit, finish, and material combinations make Sander one to watch, for sure!

Enrique Pena Custom Knives

If you love Enrique Pena’s work, then you’re in for a treat. Our BLADE Show haul from Enrique includes a couple Swayback flippers like the one you see here, as well as the Barlow, Mula, Viper, and the Zulu Spear slipjoint.

Jeff VanderMeulen Custom Flippers

Jeff definitely has an aesthetic all his own. His designs are shaped and built like an aggressive, ergonomic tactical knife, but the material choices exude class and sophistication. This Double Homicide is the perfect example, with its intimidating size and style perfectly contrasting the excellent ergonomics and marbled carbon fiber handle scale, Mokuti bolsters, and Nichols Damascus blade.

Serge Panchenko Custom and Mid-Tech Knives

We picked up an eclectic array of knives from Serge Panchenko at this year’s BLADE Show, no surprise given the knifemaker’s own eclectic taste. There are some old favorites, like the Coin Claw and Bean Cleaver in multiple finishes, plus some new models like the Slipjoint Cleaver and SKT-2 strap cutter.

Daniel Koert Custom Knives

Daniel Koert is a knifemaker who’s still not as well-known as he deserves to be as he’s often overshadowed by his shopmate Jeremy Marsh. But his star is definitely on the rise! We snagged two variations of his Model A flipper, as well as the more low-key Honest John flipper he just debuted at BLADE this year.

Jonathan McNees Custom Knives

Jonathan brought the thunder this year, so we had to pick up as many models as we could get our hands on! If you’re a fan of EDC fixed blades we have two blade variations on his custom Persian neck knife, two other neck knife models, and his new Retainer backup knife designed to work in concert with your firearm. If folders are more your speed, we have a custom Dixon and a custom Tanjun, and the fit and finish on these is spectacular!

We have many more coveted custom pieces from BLADE yet to add. This includes (but is definitely not limited to): Jake Hoback, CKF, Brian Tighe, Jason Tietz, Matt Diskin, ADV, SK, and Chuck Gedraitis. We get new Customs and Mid-Techs in every day, so please email us at with any inquiries.

Some of our Favorite BLADE Show 2018 Customs

If you’ve been keeping up with our social media channels this week, you know we’ve been putting out some pretty incredible pieces we collected at this year’s BLADE Show. Here is the roundup that we sent out to the masses this week!

KnifeCenter is the original and largest online catalog of cutlery, and that includes the newest knives in the world.

Michael Raymond Custom Integral Starlit Folder

This BLADE Show 2018 Special Starlit features a Bohler M390 stainless steel blade with a uniform, hand rubbed satin finish that comes in at 62HRC. The blade was heat treated using a rapid oil quench technique and deep cryo treatment, then Rockwell tested. This is all done in small batches to ensure accuracy. In the custom knife realm, Michael Raymond is second to none when it comes to overall quality and superb fit and finish.

Ken Onion Slacker and Jeff Park Bones Mid-Tech Flippers

We’re not sure why Ken Onion called this design the Slacker, because it’s definitely working for us! It’s rare that we have Ken Onion customs and mid-techs on hand, so we were super excited to scoop up these bad boys at BLADE Show. We also managed to get our hands on several of Jeff Parks’ Bones model, his first original design after spending twelve years working with Ken in Hawaii.

Jared Price Custom Wren Flipper

This Wren flipper is the other prize score from the 2018 BLADE Show, and one of the first three of its kind. It was handbuilt by Jared in Missouri and is perfect in just about every way. From the blade look to the handle, the ergonomics to the fit and finish, we cannot find a single negative thing to say about this knife.

Tony Marfione Custom Knives

We picked up five different Marfione customs at the Show, and there’s some really exciting variety to be found here. We have a beautiful variation of the Warhound flipper and a SOCOM Elite with brass handle inlays. If you prefer an OTF, we brought back a Cypher and two different Troodon models.

Andrew Demko Custom AD15 MG Folders

If you’re looking for a custom knife from Andrew Demko without the full-custom price, he’s just come out with the knife for you. The Machine Ground AD15 is still handbuilt by Andrew, but it features a more precise grind and his ultra-strong Scorpion Lock. We were able to get ahold of a couple new variations that featured milled titanium and colored G10 handles.

Jens Anso Custom Monte Carlo and Orso Prototype

The Monte Carlo is a superb gentleman’s folder that was handmade by Jens for the 2018 BLADE Show, and we consider ourselves extremely lucky to have it to offer to you. It features a non-locking blade and nail nick opening in a size that allows it to be carried in just about any country, regardless of their strict knife laws. On the other side of the spectrum, the Orso is one of Jen’s most recent designs which represents a fine return to his sleeker, curvier blade style.

Darrel Ralph Custom MOAB Hackers

The MOAB (Mother of All Blades) Hacker combines an intimidating blade with an ergonomic handle for a knife that you are bound to love. These each feature a Chad Nichols Stainless Damascus cleaver style blade with a milled hole pattern that seems to be a theme on this knife. We have a couple “full dress” models in addition to a “half-dress” one. Darrel thought of everything with these knives and we’re incredibly lucky to be able to offer them to you!

Jason Guthrie Custom Damascus Scouts

The Scout is a smaller version of Jason Guthrie’s Ranger model, yet all aspects of this folding knife are just as capable as the original. This folder sports a “classic tactical” appearance with clean lines, high tech components, and a shape everyone will find appealing. The Scout is offset with beautiful Damascus blades and A+ material combinations.

Eric Ochs Custom Knives

Eric Ochs is one of the premier custom knifemakers in the industry today. He researches his blade and handle materials thoroughly to ensure they can withstand the abuse he designs his knives to take. Almost all of Eric’s designs are created for useful simplicity and balance while providing superior grip and control. His pieces are extremely difficult to come by, so we were thrilled to be able to grab several at the show.

SharpByDesign Custom Flippers

SharpByDesign represents the custom knives of Brian Nadeau. Brian is relatively new to the knife community, but has already amassed quite a following – and for good reason. His knives are absolutely some of the best available for their quality, innovative designs, and sheer beauty. Brian has already been awarded some of the industry’s most prestigious awards and, based on what we saw at the BLADE Show, there are sure to be plenty more to come.

Jesper Voxnaes Custom Folders

Jesper Voxnaes of Vox Knives is a man that needs no introduction. Like his close friend and country mate Jens Anso, Vox has collaborated with some of the best production companies in the world so his designs are not new to the US market. However, landing your hands on a custom knife handmade by Jesper is a tall order and we consider ourselves extremely lucky to have two to offer you.

We have many more coveted custom pieces from BLADE yet to add. This includes (but is definitely not limited to): Enrique Pena, GTC, Jeremy Marsh, Mick Strider, and Todd Begg Knives. We get new Customs and Mid-Techs in every day, so please email us at with any inquiries.

BLADE Show 2018: Hoback Knives

We were lucky enough to catch Jake Hoback at the Hoback Knives booth at BLADE Show this year, and he took us through their newest models – the OSF, the slimline A8, the latest Kwaiback, the Talim, and the Talim training blade. Check out the video below and let us know which ones you’ll be adding to your EDC rotation.
