Happy Thanksgiving + How To Carve A Turkey The Right Way

Thanksgiving gear tips hero image. Carve Turkey the right way.

We have a lot to be thankful for in this, the year of the pandemic. Mostly you, our customers, who have helped us weather this storm while so many are struggling. We hope everyone is staying safe, sane, and sanitary this holiday, and for those carving a turkey tomorrow, check out my step by step video below so you can extract maximum goodness from your bird.

For those less fortunate, we are called to help. We will be making a sizable donation to our local food bank, and encourage you to do the same. No one should have to go hungry in this country. To find out where you can donate, please visit

9/11: We Will Never Forget

Twin Towers, NYC, with excerpted text from the pledge of allegiance on top

9/11 was a very important day here at the KnifeCenter, as it was for all Americans. Our business was located within the Washington, DC area at the time. After the second plane hit, we closed our doors and sent all employees home to be with their families to get ready for whatever the future would bring. The last plane was headed for us and no one knew where it would hit until the plane was forced down in Pennsylvania. We mourn along with all Americans for the fellow citizens that died on that day. Of course, most of us who witnessed the catastrophe have our own memories of that time and the following days. I remember the days following as a unique period in our history when the citizens of this country were truly united with each other. If we try to remember that time, perhaps this country could feel more united again. We are all much more the same than we are different.

We got through that catastrophe and we can get through a lot more.

God Bless America and all Americans.

Memorial Day 2020: KnifeCenter Salutes our Fallen Heroes

Knifecenter salutes our fallen heroes. Remember them this memorial day. Bowie knife

This weekend is a time to remember our fallen heroes, as well as those still holding the line. With the upside down world we find ourselves in thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, it can be easy to lose sight of those in our armed forces, past and present, where working from home was not an option. They are out there every day, putting their lives on the line to keep us safe, and some have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

As a knife retailer we feel especially close to our American service personnel, and this weekend gives us the opportunity to recognize their sacrifices, united together as a country. To them we say, we are extremely grateful that our nation is protected by you so we can go about our daily business the best we can. We may never understand the depths of what you have given up to keep us safe, but know you are appreciated and we are honored to call you our countrymen. We salute you, this day and all others!

State of the KnifeCenter During Coronavirus

Handwritten letter on wooden desk

Hi everyone – my name is Seth. I run the KnifeCenter’s social media and write for the blog. I don’t normally step in front of the camera, but then again not much feels normal these days! I wanted to share with you what’s going on here at the KnifeCenter given the worldwide COVID-19 situation.

The KnifeCenter takes the safety of our employees and customers very seriously and we are following all recommended procedures from the CDC and our local governments to maintain proper cleanliness and safety precautions. All of our employees who are able to work from home are doing so and we are still open for business. As of now, orders are shipping out as normal and we are not experiencing any delays. Our phones are closed, so please direct any support inquiries through email ( Thanks for sticking with us!

Clocking in at over 1,800 pages, the 2020 KnifeCenter Printed Catalog is the ultimate reference for the knife fanatic. With hundreds of brands and tens of thousands of products (Some of which haven’t even made it on our website yet!), the catalog practically contains the entire knife industry. The best part about this catalog is the element of discovery. The medium of a paper catalog can lead you to brands and products you wouldn’t find otherwise – the turn of a page reveals awesome gear you didn’t even know you wanted.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Graphic with hand holding a lit sparkler

As one year ends and another begins we look back and take note of the tremendous growth of the knife industry. Custom knife makers both here and abroad have expanded their selection with some factory made models that they designed. Also, we have seen several new and major brands coming out of China offering an unprecedented variety of quality knives to the world. “Made in China” no longer means junk!

I am proud to say that the KnifeCenter has grown along with our industry. New employees are adding tremendously to our offerings. We are now featuring the absolute best product photography in the entire industry. Also, thanks to some great knife world talent joining our ranks, we have a tremendous amount of informative material about the items we offer. It’s an exciting time in the world of knives and knife retailing and we so much appreciate all of our loyal customers and visitors who make this business and lifestyle so worth it.

2020 should be another banner year and, from our family to yours, we hope everyone has a healthy and prosperous New Year! Please keep checking back!

The KnifeCenter Gives Back

KnifeCenter believes in giving back to society in the form of volunteering and donations to charities. We have decided that, instead of just writing checks to the various organizations, we can take some of our great products, raffle them off, and give all of the resulting money to charity. This not only helps our customers get products they may not typically be able to afford, but it also helps out our charity of choice – everyone wins!

Generally, we give to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a great organization that we’ll continue to support. We also have some local organizations that we feel do a wonderful job in our area of central Virginia. We hope that you will take a chance on our Holiday Charity Raffles for really fine items. Be sure to stay tuned to our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube for upcoming charity raffle giveaway announcements.

Thanks to everyone that supports these charities and our ongoing mission to help our community!

These are just some of the charities that KnifeCenter supports.
