This week our steal is the Gerber Counterpart folding knife. This mid-size folder has a really rugged, sturdy construction that makes this knife a great value for the money, and it is of course backed by Gerber’s lifetime warranty.
The handle is where this model shines the most. The deeply textured G-10 provides a more than ample grip that isn’t going to slip, even in wet conditions. The shape lends itself to a very comfortable hold, even in the way the pocketclip rests against the hand. The integrated finger guard and light jimping on the spine of the blade give you solid control when performing finer tasks.
This knife doesn’t have a very strong detent, so deployment via the flipper is going to require a little wrist action. The blade is a 3″ fine edge drop point that’s going to enable very clean cuts. The matte black finish and low profile design lend the knife an all-around tactical appearance. A hefty liner lock keeps the blade locked in place.
Pocketclip on this model is removable but not reversible. It’s smooth and strong, enabling an easy tip-down carry.
Overall, the Gerber Counterpart is a good bet for anybody in the market for a basic folder they can put through its paces. To learn more about this knife, click here. To see our entire inventory, visit knifecenter.com
