This weekend our special is this J1 assisted opening folder from Guardian, Gerber’s economy line of knives. At KnifeCenter we’ve been selling Gerber knives online longer than anybody, even Gerber themselves, and they’ve always put out a quality product.

There’s no point burying the lead, what makes this knife one to own is the unbelievable price point. For well under $15, this is a perfect rugged folder to use and abuse.

It takes a good bit of force on the dual thumb studs to activate the assisted action, but once you do deployment is quick and snappy. This is a great medium sized knife with a three inch blade and a nice slim profile. Blade is durable, sharp, and made from 420HC stainless steel. To close it back down just push the plunge lock up here on the handle.

Handle is a heavily textured G-10, making for an excellent grip. It’s got a good shape to it with zero hotspots, so the hold is really comfortable. An index finger indent and some light jimping on the spine of the blade let you feel like you have precise control.

The J1 features a really sturdy, deep pocketclip that makes for a super confident tip-down carry. The lanyard hole at the back lets you tailor this to your personal carry style.

Overall, the J1 folder from Guardian is a really well made basic EDC at an absolutely unbeatable price. To learn more about this knife, click here. To see our entire inventory, visit
