The season for giving is upon us, and that can mean one of two things: you spend your valuable time researching the best outdoor knives or you let your friends over here at KnifeCenter do the job for you. We’ll keep this guide short and sweet – just eight outdoor/survival essentials that would make great gifts for yourself or others. If you have someone in your life that spends more time outdoors than indoors, the right present for them is on this list!
While all of the Hunter Pro models here are certainly great for backcountry EDC, our favorite from the lineup has to be the silver Alox variant with its removable pocket clip and integrated lanyard hole. The scales are ribbed, allowing for a unique grip that will provide plenty of traction in wet environments. These traditional lockback hunting knives have been field tested to ensure quality performance.
The Gerber Myth Series is a new line of hunting knives and gear designed for hard use out in the field. The line incorporates a grippy rubberized handle, well made plastic sheath, and a number of different blade designs to tackle any task a hunter requires of their edged tool. The sheath for each knife comes with its own built-in carbide sharpener to touch up the edge when necessary. The Myth Series also features a hands free 28 lumen headlamp for low light hunts and a folding ceramic/carbide sharpener with a diamond coated area for sharpening serrations. These good looking and functional tools will not break the bank and can be found at www.knifecenter.com.

Gerber Guardian Back-Up Tanto Boot Knife
Gerber Knives has produced the Guardian combat knife forever- it was one of their original combat knives. It has been a mainstay of militaries worldwide for decades. Now, they have released a tanto version. Boot knives have kinda taken a back seat to neck knives in recent years as the back-up knife of choice. Gerber thought it was time to re-visit the boot knife, and bring some of the neck knife styling cues to the other end of your person. They also made sure it was still all Gerber. The Guardian Back-Up Tanto is a perfect low profile boot knife, and it is also very user friendly. The handle is all-weather grip-able, and the sheath tension is adjustable.

The Gerber Command II was a well received combat knife first manufactured in 1981. With a design based on the Mark II, the Command II featured a single edge as opposed to the Mark II‘s double edge, and serrations only at the tip of the unsharpened edge. This allowed the Command II to get around laws against double edged knives, which prohibited the Mark II.
To celebrate the upcoming anniversary of this popular knife, Gerber has chosen to issue a 30th anniversary version of the Command II made with S30V steel. The knife comes with a leather sheath, a wooden display case, and a certificate of authenticity. This is a limited edition knife, with only 1500 being made, so get yours today!
