The NRG Folder from Kershaw Knives is an awesome folder. When Kershaw first brought out the Speed Safe Assisted opening mechanism, they were proud of the fact that they had a product that opened almost as fast as a switchblade, but wasn’t a switchblade. Now Kershaw has produced a knife that opens almost as fast as an assisted opener, but isn’t an assisted opener. The NRG – read as Energy – features a kicker on the back of the handle that allows for quick opening without any kind of assist. This is not a new concept, but making it work well is certainly new. Oh yeah, it also features Sandvic 13C26 steel, so it is wicked sharp to boot!
