Today we’re taking a look at some of our favorite Case knives of all time. When it comes to classic American pocket knives there is no company out there more closely tied with this tradition than Case. They’re primarily known for their non-locking slipjoint pocket knives but they also make modern folders and even fixed blades as well. However, we’re gonna focus on their best folding knives and we’ll show you a few of their classic patterns to illustrate.Continue Reading
Lightning fast. That’s the best way to describe these Randall designed Ontario assisted openers. Just instantaneous opening. Touch that thumb stud and the deed is done- open. The design of this folding pocket knife is well established with the non assisted models, as a great every day carry by thousands of users. Designed by Jeff Randall of ESEE knives and manufactured in Taiwan, American knife fans have voted the non- assisted models as must-have tools by buying them throughout the last 5 years they have been available. We are certain these assisted models will be at least as desirable. There is also a safety on the handle that prevents the accidental opening. Here are some more goodies about these folders. They have a flat ground blade of good quality stainless steel, AUS8. Double thumb studs trigger this lightning fast opening. The G10 handles are great and offer a good grip. Handles are lined for strength. The liner lock is solid and access to it is easy. There is some jimping on the thumb ramp on top of the blade. There are extra holes to reposition the pocket clip so you have your choice of 4 positions. The pivot adjuster is an allen wrench fitting. This is a great knife destined to be a long term standard and you should absolutely check them out at www.knifecenter.com.
When we heard that Zero Tolerance was going to be offering their awesome 0350 in ZDP-189 steel, we were blown away. Then, they announced a composite version with an S30V spine and a ZDP-189 cutting edge, and blew us away again.
Offered in a satin finish, these gorgeous knives allow the user to clearly view the delineation between the two steels. ZDP-189 is one of the highest-performing stainless steels in the knife industry today, prized for its hardness and edge retention capabilities-and results in a WICKEDLY sharp knife (as my index finger discovered while writing this blog entry).
Designed by Ken Onion and manufactured in the USA, the composite 0350s offer the patented SpeedSafe® assisted opener, allowing smooth one-handed opening. These knives sport textured G-10 handles an adjustable quad-carry pocket clip. They’re available in both plain and partially-serrated edges. Individually numbered, these limited-edition knives are going fast, so pick one up (carefully!) at www.knifecenter.com!
Here’s the word from Zero Tolerance:

Benchmade Mini-Rukus AXIS-Assisted 3.4″ Black Combo Blade, Black G10 Handles
Benchmade produced the RUKUS line several years ago and they have been mostly discontinued. We thought they were about the toughest combat folder available. Benchmade Knives has brought back one model for a sprint run and it’s the mini RUKUS with black combo edge blade. They’ve added the Assisted mechanism to the Axis lock and so this is the most spectacular RUKUS we have ever seen- outside of the Gold Series they have offered.
