‘Tis the season!
We’ve marked down literally thousands of products for Black Friday and Cyber Monday: gentleman’s folders, tactical knives, bushcraft blades, and the best modern and traditional everyday carry knives… including brands that have never been on sale before! Now is the best time to shop the KnifeCenter for gifts (and for yourself). Here are a few of our picks, based on customer reviews and staff favorites.
Zero Tolerance knives are on sale for the first time EVER this Black Friday! The 0393GLCF is loosely based on knife maker Rick Hinderer’s custom Eklipse model, and this version adds the very Zero Tolerance touch of glow-in-the-dark carbon fiber scales. It’s a fun detail, but the the top-shelf 20CV blade steel, USA-made construction, and KVT ball bearing flipper action deliver premium performance.
The Buck 110: you’ve probably seen one before, but until you’ve used one yourself, don’t underestimate this knife. Its enduring appeal is in its cutting performance. The long, hollow-ground blade will out-slice many modern folders, and the handle is sturdy and hand-filling for a confident grip. Marked down to $39.95, this is THE knife to give to anyone who appreciates a classic.
The Terminus XR debuted SOG’s new XR locking mechanism, a sturdy, smooth system that is also ambidextrous and safe to operate, since your fingers stay away from the path of the folding blade. The 2.9” drop point blade comes in either BDZ1 stainless steel or D2 tool steel, and deploys with either the flipper or dual thumb studs. Easy to pocket at just 3.2 oz. with an ultra-deep carry clip.
The Gerber Fastball is our pick for best new knife from the brand. It’s got it all: great design, superior materials, USA-made quality, and at $74.99 – a better price than ever. If you’re looking for a sterling EDC, the Fastball’s precise 3” S30V blade and manual-action ball bearing flipper make it a competitive option.
Hogue is best known for their automatic knives, but their manual knives are every bit as well-engineered. The X1-Microflip is the smallest folding knife in their lineup, and a KnifeCenter employee favorite for its comfortable ergonomics and satisfying (addicting, even) button-lock flipping action.
Andrew Demko is the engineer and designer behind Cold Steel’s famously strong Tri-Ad lock. The AD-15, based on an Andrew Demko custom design, sports his latest lock innovation: the Scorpion Lock. The “yoke” (visible as the grey bar on the back of the handle) pushes a solid steel pin into a notch in the blade. Since the yoke also makes up part of the handle, the lock strength is reinforced by your grip on the knife, similar to the way a frame lock works. It’s a brilliantly simple & strong design, and fun to fidget with to boot! The 3.6″ blade is saber ground from premium S35VN blade steel to tackle hard-use tasks.
The first things you notice about the WE Chimera are its imposing size (3.9” S35VN blade), precision craftsmanship, and cool matte-grey look. What isn’t obvious from pictures is just how lightweight the Chimera is for its size (4.9 oz.), which helps the big blade knife feel articulate in use. Like all WE knives, the flipping action is fast, smooth, and perfectly tuned.
CIVIVI is the new sister brand to WE knives, bringing WE’s famous attention to detail and quality control to a more affordable price point. Simply put, CIVIVI makes some of the best value pocketknives on the market today. The Praxis, with its 3.75” blade, G10 handles, and ball bearing flipper deployment is on sale for $39.95 through Cyber Monday.
The Steel Will Modus is a customer favorite, and we can see why. It’s a beautifully designed, competitively priced, and well-made knife from a brand that consistently delivers great products. A well-tuned liner lock detent makes the Modus a fun, reliable flipper; D2 steel and a utilitarian sheepsfoot blade shape make it a real pleasure to cut with. Take your pick of several colorful FRN-handled variants, all on sale now through Cyber Monday for just $41.99.
Darrel Ralph’s Gunhammer is one of the maker’s most coveted designs. Those custom knives can go for over a grand (if you can find one), so we are thrilled to be able to offer this Kizer production version at a fraction of the cost – on sale now for just $144.95. The textured titanium scales, 3.5” S35VN blade, and trigger-like flipping action make this a superlative choice for a tactical or heavy-duty everyday carry knife.
You can think of MKM as a sort of “supergroup” of the best Italian cutlery manufacturers on the planet, united behind a single name. We think it’s one of the best new brands on the market. The Arvenis, designed by American knifemaker Lucas Burnley, is comfortable and capable, with a 3.35” M390 supersteel blade. Anodized aluminum inlays in the handle add a stylish pop of color. At a limited-time price of $189.95, it looks even better.
